Description: Under the leadership of the Council of Atlantic University Libraries (CAUL), AtlanticOER is a regional initiative that provides access to an online publishing and hosting platform (Pressbooks) which enables creation by educators of Open Educational Resources (OERs) for use by post-secondary students in their courses at universities and colleges in the region. One of the barriers to OER creation / adaptation can be funding, so CAUL-CBUA is launching a new Atlantic Open Educational Resources (AtlanticOER) Grants Program to assist educators in the creation / adaptation of OERs.
The new AtlanticOER Grants Program will be outlined in this webinar. As well, educators from different disciplines across Atlantic Canada will discuss how they created or adapted OERs after receiving an institutional or provincial grant. This webinar will provide real-world examples of how grants can be used to help educators in the creation or adaptation of OERs and a look at some OERs. There will be plenty of time for questions and answers in this session.
Panelists: Dr. Josh MacFadyen, Canada Research Chair in Geospatial Humanities, University of Prince Edward Island; Dr. Matthew Pauley, Director of the Hostetter Centre for Enterprise and Entrepreneurship, University of Prince Edward Island; Ann Smith, Lead on the CAUL-CBUA OER Incentivization Grants Task Group, Acadia University; Dr. Leeanne Stevens, Teaching Fellow, Psychology and Neuroscience Department, Dalhousie University
Note: The webinar will be recorded and will be available after the session for viewing via the CAUL-CBUA website.
